I've seen a few but mostly if I've been moving plants for the winter. I must have knocked them off where they were hiding!!!

I've seen lots this year. Whilst I was doing my autumn clear-up of the flower bed I found lots in amongst the flowers...sad really as the frost will probably have killed them off...

We had quite a lot this year, including this beastie and about 30 of his siblings. Haven't seen any just lately though. FA x

Hi there
I was cutting the garden back today for winter and noticed 3 light green, very long (approx nearly 2 inches) caterpillars. Only realised one was a caterpillar after I had cut it in half.......
I ran in doors for the camera - yep - batteries empty - so your guess is as good as mine what they were - all I can say was that they were on the Roses. As I started shredding soon after I never did get a photo of them.

If you can remember what they looked like, Rosefriend, you could look them up here: www.whatsthiscaterpillar.co.uk/I think the birds/frog/hedgehog eat most of mine

Thanks Juliet - well I would love to say that it was something exotic but I think it was probably a Cabbage Looper although I have never seen anything so big and fat and quite frankly horrible.

Juliet, Thank you for that site. I have added it to my favs. I am such a s¥¥¥¥¥ for these kind of sites. All those scrummy pictures in neat little cattalogue rows. They make my day.
Drattttt the spell check is down
