Karenwl Hi Karen, There was something on BBC Manchester's (online) bulletin about the roof of an Aldi supermarket blowing off so it sounds like it is rough up there. If you have Real Player - and ideally a broadband connection - you can listen to BBC Radio Lancashire by following the link from this site... www.bbc.co.uk/lancashire/index.shtmlSpruance

We just had a power cut while I was perusing the boards. It only lasted about 10 minutes, just enough time to get the tea lights out and a saucepan of milk on for cocoa. It was quite eerie and calm out, but I'm glad it didn't last too long or I'd have worried about the freezer and the heating! Could have done with another half hour though it was quite peaceful.

We had a power cut yesterday at about 11.30 am. I went home at 12.30 (nice unexpected afternoon off) which is why I disappeared. Apparently thieves had broken into a substation and stole a whole load of copper. The power company shut down all of Dudley, Tipton, Hagley, Stourbridge and Halesowen to repair the damage. Apparently power was restored at 1.30, but I was home by then Reaped the aftermath today with one corrupt outlook mailbox, and a monitor trashed.

Hiya Sleepy
It was on the breakfast news this morning. Apparently thieves had removed the earth cables, so in the interests of safety the power company closed down the substation to effect repairs. Some folks will pinch anything it would seem.......
