Have just been into my local branch of Woolies and they are doing BOGOF on some perennials. I got two pineapple lily bulbs for £3.99 (I hope I can get them to grow! Tips please!) and two Phlox free. Also BOGOF offer on packets of Mr Fothergills seeds.

Hi Borderbabe I bought some seeds today from woolies. Butternut squash - winter. Coleus. - flame dancers. never grown these before though. I didn't see any perenials though - so might go back. They did have some fruit trees though with a free sliver birch or willow tree. - But didn't know if they would be any good.

Our woolies isn't big enough to have gardening stuff in. Neither of the ones around here are. Conwy's is no bigger than a paper shop and Llandudno's is more full of kid's toys and CDs and sweets. Don't think we have a Wilkos around here either

Evening, I admit I do try and have a peek at Woolies plants every now and then - their end of season sales are pretty good. Last year I bought a thornless blackberry and a tayberry for 50 p. You just have to check the roots in their bags really. Both plants are really well in pots at the mo. Pineapple Lilies are amongst my favourite summer bulbs. I have 3 in huge pots which I overwinter in the GH. They are gorgeous plants when in full flower, I really enjoy watching them grow.
