I've actually been out and done some gardening. HURRAY! The sun came out, poorly daughter's recovering (after 3 weeks) and went out with Dad, I'm fed up with tinkering about with the pooter so I donned my gloves and wellies and did some very vigorous weeding in my flower garden. It was lovely. I pulled out 2 barrow loads of couch grass, miles of nettles, rethreaded some roses into the trellis over the seat and did a bit more pruning of the hedge. My flower garden is divided into quarters and has hedges all around it on 3 sides and was a total mess. One quarter is now a tidier mess! Such a good feeling though to be outside again. I was feeling very confined and grumpy after looking after my daughter for so long. Isn't gardening GREAT?
And I sowed my Astrantia seeds and have left them outside so we'll see if that gets them to germinate..

You are soo right gardening is brilliant, and is now PRESCRIBED for depression...I could have told them that years ago! I went out this morning and spent the first hour picking up next doors garbage from my garden...she might one day remember to tie the bags properly, but from then on it was weeding planting the very last of the bulbs (found in a forgotten corner of the shed) and now all is neat and tidy and put to bed for the winter, some of my tulips and daffs are already showing bit worried about them but what can I do?

It's nice to ache all over and have that zingy feeling in your cheeks (face that is!) when you've been working in the chill isn't it? Nice and satisfying. I shouldn't worry too much about your bulbs Sweetleaf. Things usually work out with them don't they? They'll just stop growing when the weather gets really cold. I do feel so sorry for you having such a horrid neighbour. It must be really irritating. Could you raise your fence height with trellis and grow really leafy climbers up it so you don't get her stuff blowing over so easily? I'm sure you've thought of that. Sorry! Would you like some rat droppings to deposit amogst her rubbish so you can call out the council? (Just a thought...)X

Im pretty sure she has plenty of rat droppings..... that shed of hers is a 5 star Rat Hotel ! I poison the ones that cross the border and try to expand the territory, and the cats regularly hunt in her garden, better that than birds I suppose, I have already petitioned the council to drop round her house and nuke the place but so far no joy Meanwhile she pretends to live like lady muck and drives a car with no tax or insurance on a provisional licence. Shes heading for a fall, but it wont be of my making

I feel like I'm caught in a time loop! The sun is shining, daughter has started to throw up and I've managed to do some gardening again (see above).....OH volunteered to sit and watch a DVD with her so I went out and cleaned out the goats little yard. It was getting wet and soggy with all the straw so I removed it and mulched my asparagus bed and dahlia bit in the veggie garden with it all. They now have clean concrete and hopefully the asparagus is all tucked up for winter (when it arrives). This is its third year so I shall be able to start cutting some next year. Coo! Cannot wait.
