Am I starting the weekend thread then? Can't see one anywhere at the mo. Ssshhh, keep it quiet but I believe I may be going gardening this weekend - HURRAY! Rumour has it that OH is taking smallest out for the day tomorrow so I can get out there. I don't care if it rains, storms, or hurricanes I am going to garden! AND I'm going food shopping this morning JUST so I can nip into the GC and start spending my vouchers....cunning eh? ;D

This morning I have so far hoovered all the rooms, stairs and landing, washed down all the kitchen cupboards, dusted, polished and cleaned the bathroom....still in my dressing gown tho ;D . OH is out in the garden digging over the bed next to the compost bin that's going to have ferns in. I might chuck in a ton of ericaceous compost and plant the lovely male skimmia you bought me in there too...ooh then I'll have an empty pot...what SHALL I do with it...<evilgrinit'sgoingtocostmoneysmiley>? Whilst I'm out in a posh pub in the country having a nice lunch with my sisters OH is going to move slabs (allegedly) . This arvo I plan to move some of my ferns (if it ent raining) out of their pots and into the prepared bed with lots of leaf mould...if the weather's too wet/cold to do THAT I'll plant up the bottled garden if my sister remembers to bring me some charcoal. Tomorrow is another day...no plans as yet past going to visit meDad as per usual. ;D

Well the sun is shining, we haven't made any real plans as we've run out of money! Children are back to school monday, so want them to get outside in the fresh air as much as possible, so I can hopefully get a bit done out there. I am very tempted to plant out my perrenials sitting in pots. In fact I know I will end up putting them out! We have a plasterer coming on tuesday to do the porch and hall/ stairs. Hurrah! Means a lot of clearing though this w/e But it will be worth it, I am sick of crusty walls, they do say the hall is where people make their first judgement of you... One other thing I am building up the guts to do is empty out my compost bin and put some mesh under it before refilling. Get the beasties moved on.

If you are going to wire under the compost bin Jonah, don't use chicken wire as, in my experience, they chew through that very quickly.....my OH buys some sort of solid mesh from a builders yard (can't remember its name and he's having a snooze in front of the TV! ). You need VERY small holes as you'd be amazed what they can get through....GOOD LUCK. (Can't you get someone manly to do it for you...?) btw Just back from the GH and bought echinops, rudbeckia, achillea and a Bishop of Llandorf dahlia in a bag for £25 worth of my vouchers . The plants were on offer 5 good sized pots for a tenner so I picked out all the ones I could find that look splittable - some for me, some for the school! Ooh, I did enjoy myself though...don't buy plants very often.
