I'm looking to possibly buy one of the above....Catalpa Bignonoides 'aurea' or 'purpurea' to go in my tropical garden this year.
I will grow it as a shrub 6-8' high and possibly in a pot in order to get the large leaves.
Anyone have any experiences with pot grown Catalpa....and would anyone know what i could expect to pay at a nursery for a small plant in say a 10 litre pot ?

Sorry can't help you Andy but your post reminded me that I saw one of these in a front garden last year somewhere around here and it was beautiful. Must google it and see if it will survive in my garden. Cheers!

There is a huge Aurea in a front garden near me. One of the best trees that I have seen.
