LP wants me to marry Ben Fogle so that she can marry OH!!! ;D
Sorry I got distracted there!!!
What I meant to say was that I don't think I would apply to do that sort of thing - I'm too fond of my home comforts now!

My absolute dream trip would be to fly across the Rockies in a hot air balloon.
I might just have to email the show !

I flew across the Grand Canyon in a twin-prop with OH on our honeymoon, and we had a stop somewhere in the middle of nowhere. It was absolutely amazing and as Susie says, very emotional. It's just so vast - so unbelievably vast when you compare it to this little country!

Yeah P, it made me feel very, very insignificant. A wondrous, wondrous sight!

I think you can only really understand just how awesome the Grand Canyon is if you've been. Photos just don't do it justice. It's just unique!!!

I must check that link, but while we're talking about the Grand Canyon, I did also visit Monument Valley at the time and thought it was better than the GC. I never thought I'd see cacti growing wild like weeds though!!!

Oh my god plocket, go go go bloody go. as soon as you can (when LP is on her gap year, maybe!)
It's not that far from the GC. I flew into Phoenix from SF for the weekend for a wedding and took in Tuscon, Casa Grande, Flagstaff, GC MV and what have you in three days. We drove over 1,000 miles but shared between three of us it was pretty okay. And that was in a tiny geo metro!!! It was great. Actually, we drove to Tuscon to pick up a friend and back to Phoenix. We brought him grub out to the car park as he was only in jeans. Gosh it's bringing it all back. "oh happy days.....oh happydaaays"
I saw them making sister act II one day....when they come out of the supposed nunnery, jump in the blue van and wreck the clutch as they drive away....

Oh how cool are you - driving across the desert! I will get to Monument Valley one day, somehow! It won't be for a few years yet, but OH and I want to go back to California because we enjoyed it so much on honeymoon, and there's so much more we want to do and see there. We want to go to Mendocino, see the Redwoods, perhaps do Yosemite..... so much to do and so little time! ;D And I'm sure if we were over there we could fly to somewhere close enough to Monument Valley for a visit!!!
My Bro has been to Death Valley and said that it was awsome, and bloody hot!!! Mind you he did get out of an air-conditioned car which would make the heat even more intense!
