I know we've done this before but as the gardening year really starts (ooo!) let's each write what our plans are for the immediate future and see if we manage it! 1 To weed the flower garden and get the path finished 2 To dismantle the raised beds and dig over the veggie garden 3 Sow all the seeds I've bought (gulp) and LOOK AFTER THEM! 4 Be brutal with my mankier houseplants and compost them. 5 Clean the conservatory windows.......(shame on me) That'll keep me going until about April I think.. Who's next?

Hi 4Ps. I need to get lots done as I have ME so it's as & when I am able really but there absolute essentials which are: Clean & sort out the greenhouse, Ditto sun/garden room, Take cuttings of fuschias & other basket plants that have survived the winter (Bacopia in flower) Sort out the patios & weed them, Sort through my seeds & don't buy anymore until I have, Plant seeds & find somewhere to grow veg, Lots more to do but that is plenty to be going on with. Oh & I don't want to upset anyone but I will be praying for a cooler summer as I have to hibernate when it's hot & I miss gardening & going out & I get soooooo grumpy. Janet.

On the lottie -
Come hell or high water I will grow carrots this year.
Sort my crop rotation out and keep a record of what I have done and when. I always start off with good intentions and by June its all gone to pot.
At home, relax in the garden at every opportunity and hope its not too hot - I melt in the heat....

1. Major tidy up 2. Finally sort out the soil for raised bed in front 3. Sort out tomato seeds and seed potatoes & get big bags of compost to grow them in on the trench drain which is currently wasted space 4. Be ruthless about one patch which is not working - with a new garden I really hate the idea of scrapping plants and starting from scratch but know it will just get worse if I do nothing; 5. Finally kill my Monster Wall Buddleia before the wall simply collapses ...
cheers

a) Hopefully, if we stay here, finish digging over the new borders. I know I should do it anyway!! b) Sort out the ivy growing on the garage, even though it has been chopped through at it's base and Root Out applied, last year, before the birds want to nest! c) Put up trellis or whatever I decide to use for the passion flower I brought with me, that has been put in temporary bed and growing well!! d) Sort out and sow some seeds, without buying too many new ones. They already take up one whole door shelf in the fridge!! e) Get over this virus, so I can start doing the above!!!!!!

Hum. I haven't really got any definate plans except that I definately must NOT go OTT and buy loads more plants!!! My main project so far this year is LP's garden. We've decided what seeds to plant and drawn up a rough plan of how they will fit in the planter. But I need to finish it before she can start anything!

Oh dear, well, I've done some of my definite plans......I've cleared out the conservatory (to make room for seed trays). My OH has dismantled about half of the veggie garden and dug it over for me. The other half has broad beans, broccolli and garlic growing in it. I've still got my asparagus bed intact cos this is the first year I can cut. Can't wait! I still haven't cleaned the conservatory windows but I have sown about 30 trays of seeds and I'm looking after them as well as I can! And as for my poor flower garden, I haven't even looked at it.....I'm hoping to be able to order some slabs this month (too slow to collect all recycled stuff, years it's been) and then I'm hoping to coerce OH into laying me a proper path (instead of my bodged, unlevel and higgledy piggledy ones), and THEN...it's a prairie garden for me! (erm, maybe next year......)

I need to spend more time doing the ironing ( instead of being in the garden ) I just think what is more rewarding and satifying..... doing the garden or the ironing no contest gardening wins hands down ;D Sounds like things are happening at yours 4P Does your local council have secondhand slabs for sale, our used to have them.
