Now that the building work is nearing completion it is time to turn our attention to rebuilding the garden. As suggested in another thread I intend to continue my blog to follow the progress of the restoration. If anyone is interested please have a look at Bill's Bits.Incidentally, I have also added a brief update to my veggieblog

Like that bed idea drbill and the sunken pots is a neat trick too. Might have to do something similar on the garden side of my raised beds, have some snowdrops in pots that would be good.......Ooooooh you got me thinking now ;D The floor looks toooooo

I wish I had a garden to do up as lovely as yours Dr B!
Can I ask a silly question? What's a herb seat then?

I wish I had a garden to do up as lovely as yours Dr B! Can I ask a silly question? What's a herb seat then? That's just what we call it. It is basically a large planter (made from railway sleepers) planted up with chamomile, thyme and sage. The theory is that it provides a nice place to sit and smell the herbs. It was originally intended as a chamomile seat but we increased the range of herbs for more interest

What a marvellous idea, a herb seat, and just the right height for harvesting a few leaves.
