Sorry SS didn't see the thread until this morning - and perhaps just as well.
Last night I was in absolute agony again suddenly and was slowly going mad. Probably took more Ibuprofen than I should have done but got through the night,
However this morning - for the first time since Sunday morning I am free of pain - it is wonderful. How awful it must be to be in constant pain....
I am at the Dentists again this morning - can't think that she will do anything....but we shall see..

I have just got back from the dentists and she has prescribed me another load of 1000gram antibiotics although I haven't finished the first lot yet.
She told me that she had been thinking of sending me into Hospital on Monday as I was obviously very ill....
She has diagnosed an inflammation of my whole jaw and sinusitis and that a part of the pus is now coming out of the one tooth - and that tooth she will have a look at when the inflammation has gone to see exactly what is happening there.
I have got to go back next Tuesday. However now that I am without pain, I at least feel that I belong to the human race again......
Thanks to all you for your help and concern.

Goodness me Rosefriend, I didn't realise it was that bad. I'm so glad you are without pain now and that your dentist is keeping a careful eye on you. <hug> Px

Poor poor you. Sorry I haven't posted on this thread before but I have been following it. Maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel now though. Hopefully now the pain's gone it means things are starting to mend. Hope so anyway Rosefriend. Take care.

Hi 4P
After logging out here at 8.50 pm (UK)9.50 (de)yesterday evening, I went straight to bed and crashed out, only waking up at 6.30 (uk) 7.30am (de) - so I have had nearly 9 and a half hours. I must say that I feel much better, - still weak and a bit tired but without pain life is a lot better.
I definately think that I am getting there - I even managed to clean my teeth properly this morning so things really are looking up!!!!!!!!
Yes the weather is far better here - won't last though......
Thanks to you all.

Hi Rita
Well I finished my antibiotics on Sunday and went back to the dentists today but there was an emergency going on - a young girl had had her gums pierced and they had gone septic and pretty nasty and as I could hear her crying and screaming I decided that I could just as well go back tomorrow!!!!
So I have got an appointment at 10.30a.m. (German time) tomorrow.
Touch wood - I hope that she will be able to save the tooth - haven't got so many left these days.
Must admit that I am very uneasy at the dentists - bit of a wimp really.......

The dentist isn't my favourite person either I've got 2 crowns, a bridge and a few gaps at the back I blame my mother - I used to say as a child "I don't want to go to the dentist, I hate him, he hurts me" so she didn't make me go - silly woman

Jonah - what kind of cheese were you eating for heaven's sake - must have been a bit old and dry to have broken a tooth..........blimey...sorry about that.
Rita I am of the era where they used to use gas and I fought like a she-cat apparently as soon as I was put under - the smell of ether to this day makes be dizzy and sick immediately.

OMG that poor girl! What on earth possessed her to pierce her GUMS? ? Rosefriend I hope your tooth is feeling better and that the dentist can look after you tomorrow. Jonah what are you going to do? Have you managed to get an appointment? I really feel for you both - my dentist says I have an incredibly strong bite, which means that I'm rather succeptable to broken teeth when I get older apparently. I broke one last year but he managed to stick it back together again and so far it's ok. I used to loathe going to the dentist but my mother forced us to go every six months. I'm grateful to her now of course. LP LOVES going to the dentist - she thinks it's great fun going on the chair, playing in the waiting room..... Just wait until she needs work doing!!!! ;D

Oh dear, I am afraid of dental work but I have a VERY good dentist, she helps by using a nose mask with entonox (the stuff they give you during chilbirth) and combines it with visualisation /hypnotic therapy! I have work done while listening to the sound of waves crashing on the shore and picture myself on the deck of a small cruiser....sounds daft but it really works! Hope you both feel better soon x

Oh Plocket, I haven't really thought about it [or am I just ignoring it so it will go away???] It's a corner of an already filled tooth with no pain involved - yet! I was hoping to ignore it until Christmas was out of the way..... Is that really bad??? How did you get on Rosefriend?

You'd be much better off getting that tooth seen to Jonah, even if the idea scares you silly.
Good luck Rosefriend - I'll be thinking of you!

hi folks
Well I am back - the tooth is a bit wobbly but it looks as though it will be OK - hopefully. The rest just need cleaning and that is that for the moment. I have another appointment for next Wednesday morning.
By the way can anyone tell me why dentists always start asking questions when they have got there fingers and various instruments half way down your throat?
The amount of grunts and noises one has to come out with to half way answer what they want to know is amazing...... However she seemed to understand every grunt I made............perhaps they get special training for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Goodness Rosefriend you'll have your own chair in the waiting room at this rate! I'm glad that they are looking after you and it sounds as though the tooth is settling down. I think my dentist asks questions just to be polite, and doesn't really mind how I answer or whether he can understand or not!!!
