So far:- Celosia bombay mx (YAY! you done yours yet Oh Cabbagey One?) Kangaroo Paw CPBxxx You've had fun! I'm afraid all my Amaranth family members are going to be tucked up in their packets for another month at least. I haven't got Kangeroo Paw, though it seems very popular, mind you I haven't got pigs trotters either Not sure if Dutchy will see this....but my Meconposis betonicifolia is germinating....two weeks in the cold greenhouse followed by 2 weeks on the bedroom windowsill.....

Wow! not bad going. I'm getting cranked up and have done some sowing then there's the potting on to look forward to!
I have a query - how long to Acquelia take to germinate? I sowed 3 types on 17/2 and put them in my heated propogator in the dining room. the temp in the propoator is 65f. there is nothing showing yet - am I panicing too early. I particularly want Black Barlow to grow as its the mainstay of my new black bed.
i took the precaution of not sowing the whole packet so how long before i need to think about trying again?

Last year I'd even sown my morning glories by now ...I've run out of seed compost anyway.....I'm actually waiting until March (next week!?) to sow the others...and may even leave some until April...eek! Last year I started on 7th February....so I'm being very restrained ;D

But once they are off there doesn't seem any stopping them. Good luck with yours. Ooohhh, have you thought about Chocolate Soldiers?

I've just had a pricking out session! ;D The celosia and commelinas were taking over the pots they'd been sown in. As an experiment I've left some in the heated propagator, some in the GH (in propagators) and some in the conservatory (in UNheated propagators)
The ginger stem and alacosia bulb ('elephant's ears) were taking up a lot of space in the heated propagator so I've moved them into the GH as well...the alacosia has a big bud on it so will be potted up tomorrow when I get a nice big pot for it...and the ginger will prolly take MONTHS to produce anything so that can sit in the GH in an unheated propagator for now...freeing up space for some of the sown pots that were in the GH...eeeh lots of moving about...fab.
