Most of mine are from Garden Centres, although I only buy from a couple of local ones because they're much cheaper than some of the bigger ones. I've also bought bulbs from Parkers and a few bits & bobs from DIY places. Definitely get the majority from my local GC's though.

Tend to buy from a local nursery if I can as I find that GC's are so expensive, then there's online nurseries if I see something I like, that I can't get locally, cuttings from other peoples gardens, and I have a go at growing from seeds too.

I'm reluctant to click on Garden Centre, although I have, because although the place I shop at is probably classed as a GC, it's a family run business that grows as many plants as it possibly can. Unfortunately it also houses the huge area of tat that seems to be obligatory in GCs these days. And I go to specialist clem nurseries if I need new plants!

I've gone Nursery although the local one is a GC too. Agree with Plocket GC's always have that area of tat, drives me wild. There are a couple of other Nurseries I use but they are not as near as the GC. I am a beast for doing cuttings, when I do the trimming up on shrubs I can't help but poke a few bits (6-10) in a couple of pots if they go they go, if they don't they don't. I'm more controlled these days and now just do 3 or 4 or none at all. When I spilt any plants if a little bits get broken off buthas any sign of root they go in a pot too . Also borrow bits from other places to try and get going if I get half the chance

I have opted for nursery too on the basis that this is where most of the intentional purchases have come from. So that would be Crowder's of Horncastle (18 miles away) and Birchgrove at Pinchbeck (15 miles the other way!). Obviously if I see a plant I like the look of anywhere I am very likely to come home with it, even if I then have to hunt around for somewhere to put it. On this basis the majority of my spontaneous purchases tend to come from the local GC (temptingly only 10 minutes drive away), although I have also picked up some nice plants/shrubs from B&Q. Then again, virtually all of my summer bedding plants, sweet peas, wallflowers and all of the veg are grown from seed on site.

I do visit GC's but I don't very often buy plants as I'm always pretty shocked at the prices! I prolly tend to buy the smaller one at the start of the growing season if any. I sow LOTS of seeds every year for selling and I do buy seeds from GC's as I find it quite handy to compare prices and quantities in packets. I suppose about 80% of the plants in my garden are from seeds. My worst habit is looking out for plants I can split in the cheaper section and I'm a sucker for the "nearly dead but not quite" bit too!

Can you vote for more than one if you think it's a tie?

I buy plants from Garden Centres, Nurseries and I grow my own from seeds and cuttings so which category do I go for?

Well I have ticked Nursery as I buy all my shrubs, roses etc from one very good Nursery about 35km's away.
However all my summer plants I get from 4 different GC's around the area.
Trouble is they are also in 4 different directions......

I've ticked nursery because I find them cheaper than garden Centres. But I do buy from diy/hardware stores occasionally.

I went for nurseries because i've worked in quite a few local ones and are good friends with the owners - so i get good discounts.

I buy from Garden Centres mainly as it's more convenient for me. There is a nice little nursery close to where I work and if I can get away from before it closes I like to buy from there too.

I use GC's and nurseries but some times opt for the internet. Have even had a couple of bits from kind GWD members. There's quite a few to choose from in my area so never go stuck. CB
