...it has ceased to be.............my beautfiful Fatshedera and been snapped off at the base by the blinking wind............AND it was tied to a cane Clever though, it managed to snap itself off just below the first leaf . I now have a lovely 4" twig....................will it grow back? S x

It might do SS....basically, both Hedera (ivy) and fatsia both respond well to very hard pruning. Give it a chance

Oh poo what a shame Susie, the blasted wind is a pain, I hate it. Could you take some leaves of the bit that broke off and stick it in the pot, it might just root. Worth a try, nothing to lose

Try some cuttings from the stem. Tis easy to do !!!

the wind snapped my plum tree in half. its a pain aint it. now i dont know if the other half is worth keeping, it sure looks odd 'cause two trees were grafted onto 1 stock now only 1 side is left. and its the right. ;D ;D ;D

Thanks folks ;D I wasn't sure if it was the right time of year to take cuttings but, I suppose I've got nothing to lose.................apart from a damn sturdy plant that was attacked by the wind .................sorry, I'm not really that upset................I lied, I'm devastated Will let you know of the outcome of the cuttings. S x
