I thought I would sow my Cosmos seeds today! When I emptied the seeds out of the pkt I thought " that doesn't look as though there are many seeds there!" I had bought 3 pkts - Cosmos 'Sonata mxd' - £1.65 per pkt. so that I would have plenty as I use them as bedding plants. The pkt said 'average contents 65 seeds' What would you accept as the mininum amount in a pkt? So- sad person that I am I thought I would count the seeds pkt 1=38 seeds pkt 2 =43 seeds pkt 3 = 47 seeds. Well I don't think that is acceptable  What do you think? I am going to phone SUTTONS in the morning to complain  |

Thats not on Isabella hope they send you lots of seeds to make up the shortfall. |

I would complain too. I think that's a rip off. Hopefully you'll get some free seeds - at the very least!

well they say average don't they to cover themselves. So that means that someone somewhere has had about 100 seeds in their pack to make up for the average of 65....
I'd phone them and whinge.

It's one thing to be a few seeds short, but that's just ridiculous Pam.
I mostly use T&M and their packs are usually either bang on or with one or two seeds extra, certainly as far as larger seeds go that is.
I would certainly have a go at Suttons over this as it sound like a mis-calibrated seed packaging machine.

After I had counted the Cosmos seeds I got even sadder  I also counted my Marigold seeds - Unwins this time Both packs said 'enough for 75 plants' Naughty Marietta - over 130 seeds (stopped counting!) Orange Winner -91 seeds Good for you Unwins - you will get my custom next time  I have sent Suttons an email - I will see how they respond |

I mostly use T&M, Chiltern seeds, DT Brown and Nicky's seeds. I have no complaints (altho once T&M sent me the wrong seeds..but they replaced them and I kept the wrong ones too ;D)
I have bought Suttons' from GC and haven't had a problem...will be keeping an eye on them now tho!

Suttons were quite good to me one year - they sent me someone elses bulb order by mistake - they told me to keep them and they re-sent the ones I ordered  So I had 50 extra bulbs LLx |

Suttons are sending me another 3 pkts of Cosmos seed Had to phone T & M today - my little Laurentia seedlings arrived a bit squashed - no hesitation in saying they would send me some more The Busy Lizzie plugs arrived from Gardening Direct - beautiful little plugs -10 out of 10 ;D |
