I am going to my sister in laws next weekend and she wants me to fix her fence that rattles. It is the one with concrete posts, with panels slid down. They rattle badly in the wind, so what is the 'correct' way to stop them rattling?

Can you put something between the fence and the concrete posts a wedge of some kind that should stop it.

I could, but I have heard two ways. First from the top downwards and secondly in at the side. Hope you get this! Just wondered if there was a correct way. I would rather do it properly or not at all!! Never had this before myself, so don't know! Thanks. Keith

Keith, get some short bits of wood that are just a bit thicker than the gap that is between the panel and the post. About half way down the panel drive/tap the wood into the gap like a wedge and it will stop the panels rattling. Good luck

Thanks Chuckles. I just felt it was such a silly question, but having never had the problem before, thought I had to ask.

Not a daft question Keith, it's best to ask IMO. Someone may just have some good trick or tip they can pass on which can make a job so much easier. Good luck with the rattle
