I signed a petition a while back to save the allotments near to the Olympic site. Does anyone know whether these have been saved now or whether it's still on hold.

The current position (as at Monday) is that the plot holders have a stay of execution extended from May until July. Because the replacement site has been refused planning permission.
The Olympic organisers have promised that after 2012 they will return the allotments as a bigger and better area for the plot holders.
I will continue to follow events with interest, whilst refraining from publicly using swear words.

Thanks Captain! I'm going to try and keep up with it too because the whole idea of uprooting allotments and then returning them is absolutely ludicrous!!!
