I sowed a packet of French marigold 'boy o boy orange' yesterday and on the packet, it said that the flowers of these marigolds are edible and taste of oranges and lemons (lemons for the yellow variety i presume).
Has anyone ever eaten or tasted them.....i presume you only eat the petals and not the seeds ?

Mornin', Yeah, I have used them before just to 'decorate' the top of a salad and I've also used the yellow flowers off creeping jenny which have a lovely lettucy peppery taste S x

There are the usual flowers which i know can be used.....calendula, nasturtium etc but i didn't know about french marigolds.
I was watching Heaven's kitchen on sky the other day and they were going through the garden eating weeds....there were several that were mentioned as edible but the one that stuck out in my mind was fat hen.
