I hate to admit it, but I'm a smoker, not indoors though On the ground near to my pond at the edge of the patio I have an ashtray with some water in it. While looking out of the kitchen window this morning I saw a robin hopping around the pond, he then flew down next to the ashtray and peered into it. He then took out a cigarette end and dropped it onto the ground just next the ashtray. He then took another cigarette end out of the ashtray but flew off with it. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why a robin would do that? I was, amazed to say the least.

He's a smoker but not a heavy smoker? ? Perhaps he thought it was a maggot?

Glad to hear I'm not the only one Rita I don't smoke in doors either. They probably make good nesting materials

I saw a Magpie yesterday - with something in his beak - wrap it up in a leaf and fly off with it Also something is eating the wax from my tea lights and then moving them around the garden
