Can someone tell me what bulb this is please? I have never planted them and they come every Spring. The leaves die off as soon as the flower appears. There were only a couple about 5 years ago and I now am digging them out each spring and can't get rid of them. Ignore the weeds........ Thanks RF

Sorry Isabella - if you mean the bulbs, well they are pure white and there are hundreds of the things. The leaves though are darker than crocus leaves although the same shape and size.

You do have a thing about names Dutchy - Naked Lady and now Sleepydick - mmmmh ................it could be an interesting evening!!!! However it looks as though you have found it. Yes it is a nice bulb, but they are a bit like rabbits - you can't just have one of them ......... I throw away hundreds every Spring and they never get any less. I think that I better start calling it Star of Bethlehem though - people might get the wrong idea otherwise. I have just googled it to find the German name and it is Milchstern (Milkstar) and also it says that it is Wild Garlic!!! Andy you were right as well - I wonder if this is the same stuff as Plocket has. Thanks a lot Dutchy. RF

Well it's not allium triquetrum which is three-cornered wild garlic, so that's one to tick off your list! I can't help with that yours is though I'm afraid.
