What's the best way to take cuttings from these plants as I read somewhere they root real easy. Was given 2 sorry looking specimens tonight and thought I'd give it a go.

It is dead easy WB! You get a Stanley knife or similar, cut a shoot make sure it is at least an inch or two long remove all but the top leaves and plant in a 3'' pot. If the shoot is long then you can divide it up to make two or three plants (as long as each has stem and top leaves. I think I may have mentioned ad infinitum that from 2 plug plants last years we had well in excess of a hundred plants.
Alternatively, it you want your kids to see a bit of science, then pop in water and let them watch the roots grow ;D
