Ground cover plants

What would you plant to cover this?

I am getting on with the planting up of the pond and hiding the liner but now am thinking of the outside banks. I think I need to find something low growing and evergreen to coat the outside banks of the pond. Any ideas please?

Sedums are good for ground cover and they tolerate most soils or there is Ajuga reptans. Day lilies although not low growing or evergreen would look pretty good on that bank too

How about some lovely clumps of thrift, the foilage would blend on lovely with the grass when not in flower. www.rhs.org.uk/rhsplantselector/plantdetail.aspx?plantid=42176

Grasses would look good too, depends wether you want colour though

Do you mean the edge of the pond? I'd have wildflowers amongst grass.

Thank you all for the ideas, now I will have to take a good look round the garden to see what can be moved/split up etc.

I seem to have been spending money hand over fist these past couple of months
(I feel that might happen when the OG checks the bank statement)
