I think you need a very big book, or an expert. There are sooo many little brown moths.

It's very handsome looking whatever it is Foz, have tried trawling through some moth sites for you but there are 100's of pics and some amazing looking moths. Let's hope someone can ID it for you

Food Garden 'weeds' like dock, nettle, chickweed and bramble are important food for the larvae of the angle shades moth.
Now I know why it likes my garden!

I saw one of the drive way the other morning, black with lots of red spots on it's back. Only pics I can find are of a narrow spotter burnet or something but I'm not convinced it's the same one but it probably is. I'd never seen a black moth before.
