blimey, if I had those plants in my garden that close to the grass, boyf would have strimmed them off by now. Which is why the daffodils didn't last long in the spring...

Slate on its side in a pavement is not simple WB. I think it is going to be quite a job to do it well but then again I am no good at paving. As for combining with hosta, yes that will be so chaf ( does that word exist? fab and cool in one ) I did build this table and can give who ever wants it the how to. ( Chuckles just reminded me of it. )

Hiya Dutchy
The table looks great ;D RE: Slate as paving. I'm thinking of using it more as 'edging' and decorative appeal. I haven't got the patience to do large areas !!

That table does look rather good Dutchy, did it take you long to make ? ? WB I used some full pieces of slate in the veg area. I sank them in halfway to keep them sturdy and broke it up with red bricks. It now has Camomile and Pansies etc trailing over the edges. I've seen broken slate used for edging in a similar way and it was overlapped and more than one thickness which gave a really nice effect.

Thats a brilliant idea for edging a border.
