....from the beeb boards, which now seem to have been taken over by a bunch of arrogant, argumentative pseudo-intellectuals.
Good to see so many of my old friends over here, so, where do I start?!

Hi Slugger....welcome... ;D
I have still been posting occasionally over on the beeb as I don't want to loose touch with one or two of the posters...I try and stay out of the arguments, and if it looks like a fracas is developing I stay away for a while. I had thought about not posting there any more...especially after a recent spat between some good friends and the clique you mention...but I nip on now and again just to keep contact with the lovely Annaliesje and a few others who don't post over here....
I do love it here tho...and AF.
Nice to see you and I hope that you enjoy the lovely friendly atmosphere and convivial admin team. ;D

I wonder... Could the mad eco warrior and his piglet pal have anything to do with it Slugger? Although the square foot tomato gardener is rather annoying too LLx

How very sad this is. Given that there are thousands registered on the BBC boards it's inevitable that there will be more clashes there of personality as well as topics and discussions of no interest. to many. We should also remember that the time of year means that most people are busy in their gardens thus giving the opportunity for ranters and off topic chatters to seem more prominent on any board.
It's easy enough to ignore a thread started by someone we don't like and to leave a thread alone once we find it is of no interest.
Personally I find the TV boards over there a bit much some times but at others they're achingly funny and with one or two exceptions the other boards are frequented by knowledgeable, friendly people who have a real sense of community - pretty much like on here but just bigger.
And before you all complain I don't post much on here, I've been having trouble with PC access - daughter studying for exams, not to mention lots of gardening.
Is everyone else suffering the ravages of slugs in plague proportions?

Hia hunnie! It's WONDERFUL to see you here! How are you keeping? And how are the hellebores? I should report that your little aqui is doing well but you also gave me an alchiwhatsit mollis with it - not my fave plants. However I am nurturing it and will possibly pass it on to mum

Hi Hun. How's the lobelia cardinalis?
Just bought my ticket for Wednesday at Tatton. Sure you can't join us?

Once again the Queen Vics were munched by slugs - I did my best but they didn't make it. The one you gave me last year did beautifully though. Nah I'm afraid Tatton's off for this year - I didn't do GWL either, partly because I just didn't fancy rubbing shoulders with the house-decorating fraternity!!! ;D ;D ;D A friend went though and came back warbling on about Gordon Ramsay (who didn't swear) and James Martin. I don't think she did much of the gardening stuff Px
