I have mentioned this book in the thread about nettles and comfrey and thought it might be of wider interest. It is an excellent and useful book, very humorously written and explains that all gardens are of help to wildlife and not to get hung up about things like nettles as we tend to think of our gardens as self-contained units, which is certainly not how they are seen by wildlife. A good read, if nothing else!

I tend to not bother with the marginal areas of my garden. As a consequence I get all sorts of weeds growing, nettles being one. I'm happy to let them thrive there as I know they're good for wildlife. If they intrude into the garden though - they do get whipped out. I respect their space and I make them respect mine!!
