Being nosey in so many gardens sounds like fun ;D, and a good way to get some idea's. Perhaps you'll also be able to pick up a few 'spare' plants ;D Pub lunch has got to be a winner . Hope you have a good time!!

Do hope that you bring us back some photo's.

We had a lovely day - looked round 6 gardens and then went for a pub lunch . We were booked to eat at 2.15pm but didn't actually get our meal till 4 o'clock We were intending to look at a few more gardens after our lunch but it didn't quite work out like that The gardens we did see were all very nice but I was really, really disappointed at the state of the greenhouses we saw Messy, messy, messy! Most just had a few tomato plants in and were very untidy - fullof of pots, trays and sickly looking specimens.Perhaps I am being too picky as I really love my greenhouses - am I strange?

I hope the Pub were very apologetic for keeping you waiting so long. I'm off to tidy up my greenhouse ;D, I don't have any sickly plants but it is untidy (in a organised way ;D). And, NO you're not strange Did the gardens you got to see have anything unusual or interesting?

One of them had a gravestone Apparantly the owners of the garden saw it for sale and bought it they were intrigued - it was dated 1801 and had 4 sets of initials on it In the same garden there was a 'house stone' - it would be bad luck to remove this stone. Another garden had a beautiful Dovecote and there were 2 babies in it.This garden also had a small knot garden - very attractive but I think I would have filled the spaces with lavender or something rather than the grass that was in it

Did you take any photos, Isabella? Our village did the same sort of thing last weekend - my photos are on this thread on the Beeb if anyone's interested: www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbgardening/F2759006?thread=4248161I thought it was a great idea - never been to anything like it before, but I'd definitely go again. Sorry to hear about your pub lunch though - that's really appalling service.

My mum's village has an open garden day type thing. Mum has been asked several times if she would like to be included but she's always said no because she feels it's still work in progress and also because Sally might get out.
