I've had it! I've decided to refuse to aknowledge this appalling behaviour of nature's, and go out and garden anyway. This means that during a heavy downpour, I could be seen bailing out my barrel pond and potting up my new fuchsia. My four year old son stood at the back door, looking at me as if I had two heads! ;D Feel loads better for going out and getting on with it, though. If I'm not around for a while, it's because I have pneumonia ...

I know what you mean RM - I must admit hat I am getting a little fed up which isn't like me.
I have put some of the trial tomatoes in my plastic greenhouse and having forgotten to water them I rushed out yesterday in the rain, which hadn't stopped all day, same today, and grabbed a watering can which was full.
Unfortunately the swing of my arm was a little high and the can emptied half over me much to the delight of my OH. Having just had a bath, I ended up having another one and washing my hair as well.
The thing was I forgot about watering the tomatoes until this morning and I got wet through again just getting to them.

OH RF, you must have been livid - luckily the rain has been blowing into my plastic mini-GH, so haven't had to water anything (yet) ... well, there has to be something good about this deluge ... cheers ...

I must go out and pull up all those drought tollerant plants we were encouraged to plant last year!

Yes, this is just depressing - we've had windy gusts as well as rain, and from the window I can see plants that need re-staking - but every time I make to go out, the heavens open ... this morning there was actually blue sky and I thought, great, today I'll be able to get some stuff done - but no sooner had I finished the first cup of coffee than the deluge started again
