Is it possible to sow a second lot of sweet peas at this time of the year, the first ones were so good i thought perhaps i could sow some more ?

I would probably say no, bit too late....or even too early.
If your sweetpeas have given you loads of flowers and are looking a bit sad, try cutting them back by half and feeding almost daily with a liquid feed. You'll probably get a second flush of flowers late summer

Yes I would say that it's a bit late too, although you may get away with Morning Glory (Ipomoea), - also a climber - if you want some late season colour. Funnily enough my autumn sown sweet peas had been rather disappointing up to the recent heavy rains but now they are doing very well indeed. Least said the better about the spring sown sweet peas, which I neglected to deal with in time.

Some of mine have had a sudden growing spurt after starting to look really tatty from the beating they've had from the weather. Have been picking them regularly though so have had a continuos supply in the house for quite a few weeks now

The secret is feed....lots and lots of it....sweetpeas are very hungry plants

At last a N/ S divide:our sweet peas, that is mine and friends have only just decided to flower this year, but I have never had such well grown plants. The scent isnot good either, too wet I suppose.
