Before I order loads of bulbs, can anyone tell me whether or not I'd be wasting my money? I seem to remember hearing bad reviews of this company for plants, but wondered if anyone had a more positive experience with bulbs

Hi RM, I gave up having anything to do with Parkers years ago. Too many poor quality plants I'm afraid. Don't know about bulbs, I don't buy them Mail Order, but I'm sure there are plenty of companies with better reputations doing the same bulbs. In fact I am now making a Half Year Resolution not to buy any more plants by Mail Order. I broke the New Year one ( those catalogues are soooo tempting! ) and have regretted it. Broken and/or dead plants! Tiny plants that are only now getting their act together. Weak ones I know they always replace or refund but it's just soooo disappointing. So that's it! No more!!! Not ever!!!! No way!!!!!

Hi RM, I haven't ordered things from Parkers, but like you I've read a lot of bad reviews of them. If you're looking for bulbs I thought Broadleigh: www.broadleighbulbs.co.uk/ were good - they're probably rather more expensive, but I got exactly what I ordered & all in good condition, so I thought it was worth it.

I was delivering all them bloody JParkers books!!
I've found them a bit hit and miss tbh. Half of the things have arrived safe and well and healthy, the other half arrived dead and I haven't got very far with getting refund/replacement. Partly cos I keep forgetting and some of it was over a year ago now.

I use Broadleigh and Bloms mainly, plus Rareplants and HiddenHouseBulbs for the odd rarity. Very few complaints.

Morning guys. I ordered from Parkers in Spring, never again. I got 50 Strawberry plants, when they arrived they looked very very sad, planted them out none grew, complained to them and they sent out 25 more plants. All these are thriving with lots of fruit on but to me they still owe me 25 or a refund but I dont think I'm going to get one . for Parkers. Carol.

I agree with all your comments about Parker's in regard to plants, BUT I heartily recommend them for bulbs. I have ordered from them for 20 years, and have never had a dud, even with their free bulbs. Last year I ordered mainly Liliums Alliums and paeony-flowered Tulips, and all have been fabulous. I have never bought daffodils from anywhere else.

Yikes, now you will all buy them, and it will be my fault But you will never know till you try. I'll be ordering more Lilium regale for sure. If any of you have a LIDL store nearby, their bulbs are wonderful too, though you have to know when they are going to be in.
