its a new honeysuckle iv planted a couple of months ago and its starting to die in places and the leaves are yellowing. It has some fresh leaves on but i dont know whats happening to it. Is it something in my soil or a disease? Any help would be gratefull. <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o276/SNOWLEAPORD/honey.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a>

Mine does something similar, but it's still going and still flowering. I'm not sure, but when I looked at mine, I thought it looked like some sort of mildew.

Hi Rowan its not got any bugs on but i think it might be that mildew you mentioned. What solution of milk and water do you use? Is there anything on the market for it to spray on or does the milk water work?

Mine does the same too snowowl. I hadn't tried milk and water but having read a thread by Old Moleskins I think it's 1 part milk to 10 parts water and I'm going to try it and see if it works. Good luck.

I'm all disappointed with this thread I thought it was a "Spot the Plant" which I'm quite good at But it's a "Pests and Diseases" where I'm utter rubbish

same goes for me wee one. i love a good trawl through my books to find a plant. i've never had this problem with my honeysuckles and i've got about half a dozen of them. i only get problems with greenfly, and so far this year i've had none of that either

Mine's done exactly the same. I've got lots of lovely new shoots growing up from the bottom but all the ones further up are withering and dying off (and they were the ones with flowers on, dammit).
I hadn't thought of mildew so I'll get out there with the milk and water tomorrow - btw I've read it's 1 part milk to 9 parts water - just to confuse things!!!

Well im pleased it not only me with this problem. Sorry dont want to inflict on anyone else but i thought it was something id done to my plant. Anyway iv sprayed with the milk water but i think i didnt dilute the milk enough but the plant is looking a little better i will give it another spray later this week.
