I know the Columbia Road Flower market well. My OH will not take me there in the car cos I buy too many plants. So I have to take the bus now and limit what I buy. I have bought a magnolia tree there and loads of spring bulbs. On one occasion I bought a load of bulbs from one stallholder all nicely put in separate bags. I walked off without a care in the world and then it suddenly occurred to me that I had no idea what bulbs were in the various bags. I had to go back and show the stallholder my purchases so I could write down on each bag the name of each bulb. I felt about an inch high, but it hasn't stopped me going back. It does get really crowded around late morning. The market is open between about 8am to 2.30pm. PJ

Aaah, a regular haunt of ours! You have to get there very early in the summer to guarantee parking close by - could not possibly go without a car, but then Mr bj is as bad as me!
A favourite Sunday morning is Columbia Road market, lots of nice reasonably priced purchases & a breakfast. Then on to the Tate Modern just as it is opening for 2nd breakfast (they do excellent bacon butties) followed by a bit of culture then home for the Sunday papers & probably a snooze having reached a severe energy gap by that time.
I love just watching some of the stall holders as they chuck the boxes of bedding around & do the old "No, i'm not selling this for £3 etc etc
