From the outset, the GWD Calendar has been accessible by all registered members, but additions/contributions have been limited to members of Admin. Whilst this policy has ensured that trivial items are excluded, it also means that only events that are widely publicised are picked up. I tend to monitor around four websites which list the major events, but such things as the local village show don't get so much as a mention. So, commencing with immediate effect, any registered member may add events to the Calendar. All you need to do is to click on at the top of any page, select the relevant month and then click on the number in the date box, so for the 23rd August, go to August and click on 23. This will open a regular posting window, much the same as when starting threads on the open board. Please bear in mind that whatever you put as the subject, will be what appears under Events This Month at the foot of the main page. So ideally this should include a short description and dates, with full details in the body of the message. Please try to verify the accuracy of the details of any events, and if possible provide contact information for members to double check before travelling. In throwing the Calendar open to members, Admin cannot and will not be held responsible for the accuracy of the posted information, although we will endeavour to check posted details as and when possible, and will make any corrections deemed necessary. Finally, the aim of this exercise is to feature events which may be of interest to other members, so no frivolous postings please. This exercise will be for an initial one month trial period, but if successful will become a permanent arrangement.
