which plant has given you best value for money this year, mine has to be a verbena seabrook lavender, it has gone from a 3"pot into the border and is now 2ft across, hasn't stopped flowering and roots in water in about7-10days so i've now edged another border with them. i've now bought a deep purple variety as contrast and will try and do the same with that one.

Oh, Beanie I haven't bought that much this year, but I was looking at the garden this morning and I realised there is one plant that is the best I have EVER bought. Will that do? It is Geranium 'Rozanne'. It has been covered in flowers for weeks, and still looks fabulous. I've had it for about 5 Years.

I think my favourite plant I have bought this year, would have to be my Cerinthe. It looked absolutely stunning with sun shining on it (I bought it earlier in the year) and it has stayed in flower for ages and the bees absolutely love it! And it was only a pound!
Second favourite would have to be the dwarf ragged robin.

Best value for money plant was not bought this year but is still going strong! Got a tiny Ajania (Pacific Chrysanthemum) for a couple of Euro in Lidl last year ... it's now massive, with glorious evergreen foliage and flowers throughout Autumn and Winter. It was actually sold as a pot plant - not a garden plant ... cheers ...

Mine would have to be my Dahlia 'New Baby'. It only cost £1.50 from Wilko and It's been flowering for weeks with no sign of stopping.
It's a lovely bright orange and is growing between some verbena bonariensis so the contrast is stunning.

Yes, I did Gertrude. I'm fortunate to have a branch quite close, so I'm handy for all their offers. , Unfortunately, I now have a collection of cacti, orchids and bonsai, because they are all so cheap there, that I am too easily tempted

Well I got so many cheap plants at B&Q that I don't think I've got a favourite. I got an acer for £1, a sambuscus black lace for £3, a cotoneus for £5 and loooooooooooooooooooads of bedding plants for under a tenner.

This is worth a second mention, as everyone should have one of these fabulous plants. The hardy Geranium 'Rozanne' It has been flowering the whole summer, and it has done for five or six years. While all the other summer herbaceous plants are needing to be cut back, it is still going strong. It needs space, certainly, but would probably grow in a pot.
