Although I've said I wouldn't bother with Tulips again, due to losing them in the beds and them not coming back a second year very well, I think I'm going to have to get some! ;D I was thinking of using plant baskets, so that I can lift them more easily when the display is over. Has anyone used anything like this: www.arghamvillage.co.uk/products/details/131.htmlDo they work?

I haven't used them, but a former neighbour did, though I have a feeling hers were recycled something-or-others. Anyway, they were excellent, because when the bulbs were over, she lifted the whole thing, and laid it out of sight somewhere to die down.

Got a feeling PG puts bulbs in pots and plants them in the garden (sorry if it's not you PG) anyway someone on GWD does and then take them out when they have done flowering

I stopped with Tulips for quite a few years and then started with the Wild Tulips as I can leave them in and they will flower again. I then started with plant baskets and take them out each Spring. They really are good but I have found that you also need expensive bulbs if you want to keep them. These plant baskets are mostly used to stop mice eating the bulbs. They are very good. Rf

They look snazzy RF! ;D I must admit the only tulips I have that seem to come back strong are the species ones, but I fancy a few more extravagant varieties too! Maybe your friend used the inside of salad spinners or something WT? I'm trying to think of what else might be similar? Thanks for the replies guys, I'll probably give them a go [if I can't find any old salad spinners!]
