just been a walk round my garden looking for any bulbs that might have come up when i noticed something has beeen munching on my primulas. They are in pots and the leaves are coverd in holes. Does this look like Vine weeval damage?if so should i be treating my containers at this time of year. I did treat them in the autume with provado Thanks

little slugs, would be my guess, mine are like that as well if you lift the leaves up you will find them, they are usually black ones.

generally when trying to ID something that's munching your plants, look closely at the pattern of the eaten area.
Slugs tend to be very indiscriminate and there is no "pattern" to their munching.
Caterpillas and weevils tend to leave little "bite marks" around the edges which is evident in this photo....especially in the top right hand part of the leaf

As it is clearly not Vine weevil eating your plants I would not bother. The weevils leave absolute perfect rounded holes in the leaves. Almost like a weaver? Bee does. Very neat. You got the caterpillar (which looks like a cabbage white caterpillar ), just hunt for its relatives and you could be home dry.

I've had loads and loads of those little green beggars this year, they're so well camoflaged it's hard to see them but I go around picking them off. They've eaten a lot of my primula's too little monsters.

They're the little monsters that have eaten my cabbages...despite them being in a netting cage!
