I like this weed! I have a couple of plants in the border, and I've allowed them to get around 9 inches high. I wasn't certain it was a weed , but after googling it the unhappy truth has become clear! Thing is, I still like it. Is there a specific reason why I shouldn't give it border space?

Well let's call it a wild flower which sounds better than a weed. If you like it and it doesn't take over the garden why shouldn't you keep it.
As you know, as with all Euphorbia's the milky sap is an irritant and you should be careful when dealing with the plants.
