Has anyone seen those boxes of wormcasts for sale in garden centres? The ones with Chris Beardshaw on them? (Why else would I have spotted them???) Well I think I recall that the price of a box was £12.99 and wondered what was so fantastic about them.

I expect they will sell because of the photograph of Chris Beardshaw. I would be embarrassed putting my name to something like this, no matter how much I was paid. It certainly sounds like a product for the gullible. But I'm at that cynical stage in my life anyway. BTW> Am I the only one to find Chris totally resistable? Nice looking chap, but not a Love God for me. Expect he'd be relieved to hear it, unless he likes the over-the-hill look ;D

I think I can resist both him & packeted worm casts, anyone who wants a few is welcome to our lawn supply. Mum used to pot up her seedlings in mole hill earth though.

Mole hills are the best Lovely crumbly soil, though it does need a little bit of weeding the first year, usually. ;D

Yes but who actually goes out collecting the soil from mole-hills? I do ;D But then, I have fields on all four sides, so it is easy to collect. I filled about eight 80L bags last Spring.

WOW!!! I might have to keep another tub-trug in the back of OH's car just in case we come across mole-hills! Oh and a spade too. I already keep a tub-trug in the back of the car in case I buy plants - OH doesn't like his car getting dirty (daft really coz it'll never stay clean with a 6-year old in the back!!!)
