Come on NO and Wee both really close - it is a cinquefoil / potentilla - Flowers 23 mm across - rare in Skye though common in much of the United Kingdom! Any help x Tig

Well!!! I reckon you have all given up - so the answer was potentilla reptans - Creeping Cinquefoil - and the closest was Wee or NO - first on board can post the next one! x Tig ;D

Sorry Tig, I HAD given up, even got my book out. For some reason, i was looking for another shrub OK I'll do one. Although I am found growing wild, and will self-seed easily, I find myself being planted specially, along with some of my more well-bred descendants. My stately demeanor adds height and I am the epitome of a cottage garden. I have other qualities, but I think you may discover my identity too easily as it is.

When I was at primary school we went to the local Nat. History Museum every week, and they had one in the garden, so we were told all about it...often..and it stuck. Oh dear, that means I gotta find something unusual! That may take longer than it took to answer that question

Was that what you really had in mind Shrubby? Or did you give in because it fitted the clue? (BTW - is "fitted" gramatically correct or what, cos Americans always say "fit" for the past tense ) Anyway, what am I? I am sticky..I am hairy...I like sitting in the bog..."Won't you come into my parlour....."

Anyway, what am I? I am sticky..I am hairy...I like sitting in the bog...Won't you come into my parlour..... I can think of several people that fit that description! ;D The safe answer would be a Pitcher Plant (Sarracenia)

Hope you didn't hurt yourself Biggs ;D Shrubby, you can still get your revenge on me cos Santa-Spru has not got it. I am not as exotic as the Pitcher Plant. I'm a bit more down-to-earth.
