I think you may have dug up an old one from back in the thread. Easy mistake when you're new. The answer to that one was Travellers Joy (Wild Clematis) If you click on the right-hand side to enter a thread you get taken to the last posting on it.

It may, but it is a beautiful tree when in flower. I very much doubt that you would be able to get one in England at any time of the year.
It is known as the New Zealand Christmas Tree or Pohutukawa and grows by the seaside. We have lots in Gisborne.

Well done Tig, it is Metrosideros excelsa, also known as Pohutukawa. The Pohutukawa flowers are an amazing crimson red and arrive right at Christmas time. A self decorating Christmas tree!

A little out of my comfort zone but here goes: I am quite rare, but can be found in Yorkshire ;D I am usually found on north facing deep grassy slopes. I have a deep reddish-brown flower! xx Tig
