I hope you feel 100% soon jlottie!
Thanks for the warning - although I never buy cooked chicken - I always worry that it isn't cooked properly!
Best Wishes Pam x

Inform your local environmental health officer? They will look into the management of the warm food counter - there are hefty fines for poor control ...

I have had a brush with this bacteria myself, I think it was an indian buffet reataurant that was to blame, but cant be sure as the symptoms are so delayed, keep taking the tablets is the only advise to offer, as they can recolonise if you fail to finish the course,, not that you dont already know that <doh> Get well soon

Hi jlottie - oh dear - not very nice is it?
Just before I came over to Germany to stay I was in an Indian Restaurant, and a few hours later I was really ill - turns out there were rats everywhere - and they had been using them to help on the meat side.............
Must admit it turned my stomach for while - but chicken - well one has to be careful. We often buy cooked chicken here if we haven't had time to do something - I think that I will be a little more careful in the future.
I do hope that your daughter is feeling a little better as well -was it the same thing?
Take care and get well soon

Oh poor you - I certainly wont buy a cooked chicken from Tesco again In fact when you look at the staff - today was in there at 8.30am - yawning and looking totally disinterested in anything - it makes sense One of the Managers ran into me, didnt apologise, just kept talking on his mobile about percentages - think will stay with M & S j w x

Tesco in Macclesfield has always been like that jennywrenn!
Isn't there a sainsburys near the big park thing somewhere?
If you've got food poisoning from somewhere then the LHA should be informed as they might've had more cases of it and more evidence would enable them to prosecute.

My son has just phoned, yes you guessed it, food poisoning from a local chippy, chicken and chips on saturday, and not a bite since, stubborn about going to the doc ,though, because he hasnt registered yet. His stomach really hurts, luckily appendicitis can be insantly ruled out, as he had his out, aged 7. He has his girlfriend with him but shes about as useful as a bottlle of chips, I may pop over there and see whats what later whether he likes it or not.

He needs to get to the docs or A&E or something as the loss of fluids alone could make him more ill. A girl I work with recently had food poisoning and she ended up with septecemia so go make him get checked out!!!

Already on the case, Aprilaydee! Our relationship has been strained recently (mine and his) but Im touched he still calls when in need. I have persuaded my doc to see him, even though he doesnt live anywhere near here.

Ive been back on the phone to him and he refuses to see our old doc and says he will register with the one near him....always been stubborn, its out of my hands, but Ive warned him he needs to act quickly... hes 25 so I cant force him! Now Ive got to cancel our doc, he`s going to think Im messing him about.

Hi Sweetleaf,
If you pop over to see him, take him some oral rehydration satchets like Dioralite (sp?) or make up you own solution:
one level teaspoon of salt eight level teaspoons of sugar one litre of clean drinking or boiled water and then cooled 5 cupfuls (each cup about 200 ml.)
If he wont see the G.P, this will help. How long has he been ill for?

He says he started to feel bad a couple of days ago, but has been to work until this morning, Ill see what I can do about the rehydration, after I get there...hes not answering the phone atm ...girlfriend is still there though.

I've just been reading back. There has been no mention that he has been sick or had the trots (can't spell diaorehea), so, if that is the case,it's unlikely that he will be dehydrated.
I wouldn't give him rehydration salts unless he has been very sick or... the other one.

That's just what I was thinking SS. It may not even be food poisoning. Tell him to ring your G.P and have a telephone consultation. Lot's easier for him.

Sorry everyone, I assumed that as I said food poisoning, D&V would be taken as read. He is currently waiting for a home visit from a new doctor...unless hes fibbing to make me stop nagging...which is possible.
