If there was ONE thing that you would like to do in your garden, what would it be?
It would have to be feasible, NOT a massive task (ie no builders are allowed to come in and it can only take you and yours a maximum of two days to do it) and something that you've been meaning to do for a while.
It would be great if as many of you as possible could answer this. Go on.... humour me. ;D
To start, here's mine:
I really, really need to get my greenhouse up.

Sort out my lawn! It's more clover than grass, with bald patches and weeds everywhere . I just can't find the time (or, to be honest, the inclination! ;D)

When we moved in the garden was full of rubble, and OH buried all the rubble in a 'mini landfill' in the corner. This is a particularly dark and dank corner, made more so by the fact that the wall is blacked from some long-ago fire. Now that the rest of the garden is looking OKish, I'd really like to dig out all the rubble and plant something like golden hops, yellow-leaved jasmine etc. there to brighten it up - but it would take a couple of days of concerted work, and we'd probably have to get a skip for all the rubble ... but that's the one thing I would (and should) do ... cheers ...

The one thing I really need to do is move the raised pond from the middle of the garden to one of the corners, it needs doing to open up the middle area a bit. It shades part of the lawn and the side border and I'd like to see more of that side of the garden.
Probably take more than a couple of days though, unless I crack the whip bit ;D

I guess for me it would have to be to get the paving/ patio done in the back garden. Not only have time and the weather been against us this year, but some b*g*&rs decided to nick our cement mixer out of the garage! There's plenty more I would love to do, but the garden just doesn't look ready for the finishing touches until that is done.

I'd like to get rid of the last piece of remaining lawn. I find mowing a thankless task. i could replace it with coloured slate

dig out the postcard size lawn at the front, but i use it to stand on to get to my plants. its quite a high bed on top of a rockery wall, so i dont know what to put in its place. it cant look tooo modern as this is a falling down house ;D

If I could do one thing it would be to remember to mark out the Iris bulbs and daff bulbs etc that I want to move. I always forget or can't be bothered and yet again they grow in places which are not great for them.

Get an electrical supply installed in at least one of my two greenhouses. Ideally the one nearest the house. Having just replaced an overgrown bed near the house with an extension to the lawn, it rather shows up the rest of the lawn for what it is. A weedy mess! That would take more than two days to sort out though so I think I can safely discard that idea. (Phew! ;D )

Remove one side of the lawn that is by a raised bed and put in a gravel path - then I could get to weed the bed when the grass is wet without making a mess and getting muddy!

ONE thing??? Well I guess the thing I really ought to do but never get round to it is to give my G/H a GOOD clean out and remove the bubble polythene which has been up for a few years now and, to my shame, is full of dead moths, flies and stuff. Still it's getting towards winter now so there's no point removing the insulation is there? Next Spring perhaps.....

I would love to have a self watering system in my garden for when I am away. It would need to do my pots as well as the small borders I have. I would then have peace of mind and not have to rely on neighbours so much, not always reliable

I want to actually get the path in the flower garden bit DONE. I am making it out of reclaimed bits and pieces so it's slow going.........I have two stretches done but as I'm completely redigging and replanting the whole area over the next few months, getting the path finished would make life much easier......the garden is about 25 feet square with a path dissecting each quarter (like the union jack flag cross - am I making sense?). I've tried weed suppressing fabric and bark (weeds just went underneath and carried on the other side), I've tried a mown grass path ( same thing). A proper path I can work from is the next attempt at keeping it looking better.......

I wanted a shed just to store gardening tools etc. and to use it for a 'potting shed'. I managed to get one eventually but after a few months--it gradually filled up with unwanted items from the house--Black bags filled for the Charity Shop--Cardboard boxes with Goodness knows what in them until there was no room for Potting on seedlings and what it was originally intended for-- Oh Well thats Life!! I've moved now--No shed--No decent sized garden-I just cant win!! (Moan Over --this should be on the Whinge Thread)
