I have to say I usually have roses out in October. However we have, so far, had a very good Autumn for extending the flowering season as it were.
Think there may be a frost tonight tho'.......

My terrapins have started their little mating ritual, at least four months too early.

Mmmmm .... I know this sounds - and is - mad, but my two Daturas (which I was cursing for not flowering) have now each decided to throw out a solidary bud ... cheers ...

The weather has really been mad - October and the first few days in November very mild, then a cold snap, now it's very mild again - and this is resulting in some funny things: a garden down the road from me has a patch of pink Nerines next to a patch of orange wallflowers obviously not an intended combination ... cheers ...

We had snow here yesterday, it's supposed to be - 5C tonight and I still have roses and rudbeckia in flower. Even more surprising my surfinia and pelargoniums are still going.

Oooh snow totp, I wish we'd have some proper snow, probably get frowned at for that comment ;D
I still have pelargoniums in flower, they are tucked up in the GH at the moment.

I know being new to this was going to be difficult but my miniature rose bush doesn't seem to know what to do & my hollyhock has finally flowered though it has been really frosty for the past few mornings. Confused!!!!! Me & the plants!

We had quite a heavy frost last night and OH said that it was -5 degrees when he went out this morning. I'm going to inspect the garden later but even from here I can see that Fond Memories looks distinctly floppy

Quite a heavy frost here last night, the common was white, my garden seems to have missed it except the raised bed which has a smattering of white and HAS BEEN DUG UP AGAIN!! Not dog as would have had compost between toes Sara

Found a flower stem on a Delphinium today, loads of lovely little buds on it. Still got some Blue Velvet Sweetpeas I've not binned yet that are flowering and have buds too.

Well, Mr. G., at least they brighten up the winter days - not that that's probably much consolation. It's been miserable here, but no frost so the nasturtiums are still going strong (no flowers any more, and they've pretty much taken over one side, so will have to be ripped out). Solanum still romping away, Penstemon going strong and a yellow Alyssum has decided to flower. Fuchsia Thalia has lost its leaves but is still flowering, which looks rather odd. When the weather improves there'll definitely have to be a big clean up ... cheers ...
