Hi Everyone Yesterday we duly went to pay our forthcoming years rent, and my OH, who is actually the plot holder, found out he is now on the committee! Apart from declining the proposal at the AGM he is now finally coming around to it, but has no idea what goes on or what he is meant to do. We think we are the youngest plot holders on the site and we do not want to offend anyone that is there. We want a more active involvment found for the kids and grandchildren that sometimes come up but don't really have any idea on how to go about it apart from trying to get them more involved in the annual show. There are kids categories but no one seems to enter them. Does anyone have any advice for him please? Thanks Julia

Julia I am on our Allotment Committee and i am also a group leader for the plots in my area. Will it be his first meeting, if so what usually happens is You start off with who is present Apologies for absence Minuites of last meeting Matters arising Secretarys peport Waiting lists Treasurers report Any other business
This is were he can put things forward ie the children and the show etc. The committee may be all for it but its getting other plot holders involved.
We are having similar problems trying to get people to social events so i know how you both feel.
I was nervous at my first meeting but i soon settled in and i just listen to what has been said and comment and give my ideas.
It will be fine just go along and he will find out what its all about,
All the best Karen.
