something like this ? tinyurl.com/2mrzh7(links to Argos website - walk in greenhouse, ref 0423955) I have some Christmas pennies and was thinking of getting something along these lines. I can't afford a proper greenhouse but want something to grow cucumbers, start off seedlings etc. Any other suggestions if this one is pants gratefully received Jardack

I think they're fine Jardack so long as you secure it! They have a tendency to roam when it's windy! And be careful with the zip - my sis. has one and the zip broke. Mind you, the quality of the cover looks better/stronger than hers. She starts all her veg. off in hers and finds it very handy indeed.

I had one of these as a 'hardening off' for seedlings. I found it ideal because when it was no longer needed it was easy to take down and 'store' for the next time. But make sure it is secured firmly or sited in a sheltered spot because as Shrub has pointed out they can 'wander' in the wind!! I felt it was worth getting if only as a temporary overflow for the plants that needed hardening off or starting off the Broad Beans/Peas etc. in the Spring.

Thanks Shrubrose and Biggles
The place I want to put it is fairly sheltered - fingers crossed it doesnt go wandering!!

Let us know how you get on with it. I dont think you will regret buying it--I used to put two bricks on the bottom bar front and back if I thought the wind was getting up- this helped alot--and only zipped-up the front if it was going to be frosty or the seedlings needed extra protection. Good Luck--

My neighbour has a similar looking one that is hexagon shaped. She said it worked a treat for all her Toms and Cuc's and bits and bobs in pots. She had hers in the corner of her garden so it was sheilded from the wind on 2 sides but she did peg it down as we are quite high up. One concern she had was the green covering stopping light but it wasn't a problem and it still got very warm in there, she described it as a sweat box

Thanks again I have a few breeze blocks sitting at the bottom of the garden (amazing what you find isn't it!) so I will use them to anchor it in place. If it works and I get on with it I might get a proper leanto greenhouse for the side of the house (like the bloke down the road I noticed the other day Jardack (off to search the sales for a bargin one now...)

ooh thanks Rita
Some nice ones there, I like the size of the one like yours, esp as its not glass which seems a good idea with little ones around!
Hope you manage to find oen for you too - and gets lots of use out of it this year!

Chuckles, I have been very good, I have gone and looked lots but not bought anything yet. I do have some seeds I bought at the end of last year so need to work out what else I need before I make any purchases...
