Come on then folks, what are your gardening resolutions for the New Year ?
My main gardening resolution is that I'm not going to neglect my garden like I have done in 2007.
I'm also going to be much more tidy in my greenhouse and I'm going to make much more use of it !!

I'm going to be more organised, such as sowing seeds in time for them to flower before winter

A lot depends on the weather Oh Gorgeous One....In 2005-6 we were encouraged to think about growing drought tolerant plants (!) but in 2007 the initial blazing sunshine at easter was rapidly replaced with a dismal soggy summer...many of my plants rotted in the ground, flowers didn't open or only started to show signs of life around October time... I think I plan to be more selective this year...I do love LOTS of clashing colours etc...but I'm going to stick pretty much to what I know and like in the flower bed...I plan to be a tad more adventurous with my veg growing tho.

Grow lots of veg for the first time. Resolution? Not to be overly disappointed ( and jump up and down on them ) when they don't do well.

Try things - sometimes I am too much of a ditherer and this year I am going to go for it.
I will make my raised bed and grow different veg and get some more areas of the garden sorted....

Be disciplined ... remember I have a tiny garden, not plant one of everything, remember that things look better in clumps even if it means fewer types of plants .... not buy plants without working out where I'm going to put them ;D ... cheers ...

'Be disciplined' about covers mine too. I have gathered all the yummy seed catalogues around me and I'm really trying to plan my planting this year. I have to dig over and replant my flower garden which is approx 25ft square amd hedged on 3 sides so I want to try for a proper design - so lots more block planting, mostly perennials or annuals which self seed and try to get the heights balanced. I want to be able to sit in the seat in there and see plants everywhere and no spaces (apart from the path - which I still have to finish... , that's my other gardening resolution) ;D

I resolve not to buy things I don't need, not to grow plants that won't fit in the garden, and to try and let the garden mature as it is ;D What's the betting I fail miserably???
