Been out and about in the garden a bit today and some of my paths are so slippery with that horrid green slime YUK. I nearly went my length a few times despite good grips on my shoes. I know it's the damp weather and lack of sun to dry them out but can anyone recommned a good product I can use to keep them clear of the green slime Home made or bought

I was wondering that too Chuckles. We have some sloping paths so can get a bit tricky if you're not careful. I've tried salt but that didn't work.

a light sprinkling of coarse builders sand might work, could get a bucket from the local builders merchant. the slime is alkaline, a diluted spray of lemon juice sprayed on the worst areas might help good luck & don't slip etc

I use Soda and a scrubbing brush each Spring - the effect lasts most of the year.

Salt alone does not work it needs to be mixed in with warm water and vinegar. Soda works. There is an anti green algae for paths by Bayer that works a treat. ( Not allowed near water as in ponds ditches etc ) With all products keep an eye for your plants and ponds they should be avoided and when your path slopes along a border scrubbing with builder sand and leaving some on might be the safest solution. I scrubbed MssK's, well not really I brushed of some dirt and sand. It helped but is not a permanent solution. Wood will always get slippery again.

We always use lawn sand (moss killer) but it does tend to turn the paths black for a while

Thanks for the ideas so far, will have to get something next time I'm in town and try it. Nearly went my length today the old york stone slabs seem to be the worst, its like a skating ring. Short term fix is I use the jet on the hose to blast it away

Cheap bleach diluted 25/75 with hot water, use an old watering can, but only if there are no plants nearby and no animals walking up and down for a few days! I have found that emptying the boiling water left in the kettle straight on the paths clears them, but it takes a while as we try to only boil what we need Tig
