What sort of garden have you got Longpod? Big, small, cottagy or modern? Or a blank canvas! What's your fave plant too?

I live 40mins east of Toulouse, very cold winters, but hot summers. I have a largish garden when it comes to doing the work, my OH is the labourer, and I am the 'dictator'. We would like to have several different types of garden, but a common theme to blend it all together, but mostly they must be drought tolerant plants, as we do not get a lot of rain, up to yesterday we were still having temperatures of 19deg.

Oh I've been to Toulouse - nice sausages!!! It sounds as though you've got your work cut out with your plant planning but there's people from all over here so I'm sure someone can come up with ideas if you need them! ;D
It's not as cold at the moment as it has been over the last few weeks - I would hazzard a guess at it being about 6 or 7 degrees during the day here. It's been quite wet though!

Are you English originally? I say this because if you are French your English is excellent...Im not an expert but most of the drought tolerant plants live near the sea , anything with Maritima in the name will flourish in arid climates, how much rainfall do you get in the average summer then?

We have a Garden Gallery section you might like to brouse through for ideas You may have seen this already ;D gardenworld.proboards103.com/index.cgi?board=memberphotosEach member has 2 threads, one for their photos and one for comments, so if you started one it would be 'longpod's Garden' and then another thread 'longpod's Garden Comments' , this is where other members would comment or ask questions about your garden. I'm sure you'll soon find your way around.
