I'm a RGN (that's a Nurse to you FA ..no 'Ooohh Matron' jokes please!!) I work in the Private Sector, when I moved here some 16 years ago the NHS weren't recruiting!! Probably just as well on reflection, as we don't have the threat of any redundancies hanging over us..yet. The ward I work on is busy with 'elective' surgery, mostly orthopaedic, but general surgery and urology as well.

You all make me feel a bit unworthy. I work for a firm of solicitors on the South Coast. I do residential conveyancing although sometimes when things get fraught and you have tearful clients in your room social work comes into it too! I like helping people to move to new houses and particularly first timers. And Land Law is very interesting.
Fpr Plockett - Exectutorship and trust work is also interesting - after land law Probate and trusts are my next favourite legal areas.

I'm not the Executor though, I'm the Executors Assistant!!! Land law sounds very interesting - I know who to shout for if I've got hic-cups with a neighbour and my unfenced land!!!!! ;D

I'm an insurance broker specialising in house, art, antiques, jewellery insurance for the rich and famous. Great job.
A loooong time ago I worked for a nursery in W London putting in plant displays mostly in the West End. Hated it.

that is amazing, I have nothing but admiration for you, you must be at a certain amount of risk though as well dealing with blood, is it tested for aids before it gets to you or is that something you test as well? nah...we're just VERY careful ;D BTW donated blood in the UK is tested for HIV as well as hepatitis and other nasties. As for samples...we just treat them ALL with respect (and are careful not to bathe in it or drink it) I have the utmost respect for ALL of you..we're all cogs in the great wheel of life ;D

MGF I have a close friend who works in care, respect to you! She has a lot of stress, and breaks her heart when one of her charges passes on. I think that anyone who works in care deserves a medal, in fact anyone who works in the medical profession. I too have a friend who is a care worker - she builds bonds with her patients and is often heartbroken when they pass away. Let's hear it for the people in this field of work, and give them a payrise while you are at it!
