I'm off to my own works Xmas party and disco. Ironically it's at the same place my beloved goes to watch football ( Rovers) every week and he can't go as its staff only. Its one of those party nights where there will be lots of other firms etc.. Plocket my OH sounds like yours as although he works for BEA which has an active social life with loads of events happening all the time - we never go - as he doesn't fancy going back to work when he has been there all day Px

OH declined his office party invitation, which included me, without even consulting me!!! Cheek! did you really want to go though? Well it would have been nice to have been asked!!!!! Plocket my OH sounds like yours as although he works for BEA which has an active social life with loads of events happening all the time - we never go - as he doesn't fancy going back to work when he has been there all day Px Well OH's do was straight after work but his problem is that he'd have to drive home afterwards. And he didn't fancy hiring a Tux for the night - it's a 1920's themed do!

The staff party at our college is incredibly cliquey, the last one I went to, no-one even spoke to me, I find it better to stay at home with a bottle of wine and come online ...

Does it count if I play post offices with the children and we have a picnic under the christmas tree and dance the Hokey Cokey? Thought not. ;D In that case I won't be going to one.

Being a true party animal - in my last employment in 2002 me and my liver went to no less than 47 parties (3 a day/evening on average).
Since relocating in 2003 - This year will be the same as before and I will go to just one VERY HIGH BROW boring one for an hour or so before I can escape. The office party will be the same as last year......there won't be one! Ditto any decorations in the office or cards exchanged- Zilch. It is actually worse than being self-employed or home based in this respect.
