Thanks a lot Amo - I will wait a little and then move them.
I must admit that I miss seeing the bluebells flowering - as you say I hope it is a sign of there being loads of them.

Found these today, snug under some bamboo - the squirrels must have missed them if they're the sole survivors of the hundred or so bulbs I planted a couple of years ago: OM.

Rosefriend, I have moved some bluebells recently. I hope they will be fine for next year. My next door neighbour assured me that it was just the right time, however I don't recall ever seeing any bluebells in her garden at all, I do hope that she is right.

I thought I'd read somewhere that it's best to plant/replant when they're 'in the green' i.e. when they've gone over but the leaves are still green - so I reckon you'll be ok Pip.

In my last garden I was overrun with Wild Bluebells and often had to do a bit of a cull (gave them away in carrier-bagfuls!!) Used to go round and dead-head like crazy to stop them spreading - but they still did! Often I stuck a handful of bulbs in an old pot, or even threw them in a corner, and forgot about them. They always popped up next spring, even with virtually no soil!! They are as tough as old boots and will come through however you treat them!

I do hope you are right NO - I have moved mine, just as it got really hot I am afraid , so I kept watering them for a while. The leaves died down ominously quickly though.
Hope yours are OK Pip as well.
OM - those two look a bit of alright, don't they.

I remember we had a debate about which were English etc, well I watched the Great British Garden Revival - Series 2: 8. Lilies and Woodland Gardens the other day and Christine said that English Blue bells only have flowers down one side of the stem. I'll be checking mine this year and outing any that don't
